HIP Literary Magazine searches for the best in poetry, fiction, non-fiction, reviews, and plays. If you have a piece you’d like to share, send it in and we’ll have a look!
At this time there are no specific limitations on themes or formats however we do ask that for long stories or novel length pieces you submit the first chapter of 5-7 pages.
The name HIP is drawn from the idea of getting to the marrow of life and how important it is to share our human experience on this Earth.
We do ask that you submit no more than five pieces at a time and that you include an author bio of about 3-5 sentences with it.
All submissions may be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.We will usually get back to you within a month.
We ask that submissions be sent as an attachment in .doc format or, if you cannot format it in .doc, then you may paste it into the body of your email.
Unfortunately, at this time HIP Literary Magazine cannot pay for publication, but it’s a good way to see your writing online!
We read submissions all year round.
Multiple submissions are more than welcome, simultaneous submissions are fine too but please let us know if your piece is accepted elsewhere first. If we publish you first, you are more than welcome to be re-published elsewhere. Please DO NOT submit pieces to HIP that have already been published elsewhere.
Thanks so much,
Allie Coker-Schwimmer, Editor
